Profile 2 for Shin Kinoshita
His first encounter with Nabeshima Dantsu was during his job hunting before graduating from university. From the time he was in school, he wanted to get a job relating something to Japanese traditional crafts. In addition to painting, he also took a pottery class. He use to play with the soil when he was in middle school because he had a relative who was a potter. From this experience, he was initially looking for a job in the pottery field.
While he was looking for a job, he happened to learn Nabeshima Dantsu, and he visited the Dantsu workshop in Kurume city. At first, he had the image of feminine textiles, but he found it had the strength of male image at production site and he could accept it without any question. He was fascinated by the fact that one person could perform all processes from a single thread to a tatami mat size product. Without any hesitation, he decided to work at this long-established textile workshop in Kurume city, where he started getting involved in Nabeshima Dantsu. After this workshop company relocated to Saga city, it was a trigger for him to move to Saga and he is currently living there.
