Shin Kinoshita has a strong passion that he should always remember to have a simple honest mind that spares no effort. It takes time to complete one artwork from design through weaving since everything is done by hand and each process takes a lot of time. Yet he takes each step seriously.
In our current society where digital technologies are developing, handcrafts may seem to be an extremely inefficient work. However, he wants to add richness and color to our life, which is full of inorganic mass-produced goods. Shin has his pride in producing rare and precious arts and he never comprises in his work.
In response to the question whether hand weaving would be a viable business because of its low production efficiency and low profit margins, the answer was machine weaving without any doubt from a business management point of view. However, as mentioned above, what he wants to make can be only be made by hand so that he still sticks to hand weaving.
